This series of homes was designed for our eco village in Ojai. However, Custom Green Living is also available to build these on your land.

These three floor plans are unique for the way they can be built separately or sequentially using our proprietary green building technology. For those choosing to build sequentially, the "I" Plan (Design ONE) is the initial structure. When there is a need for more space, the additional portions of the "L" Plan (Design TWO) integrate seamlessly into the "I" Plan, with minor interior modifications. For those seeking even more space and the complete structure, the remaining portions of the "U" Plan (Design THREE) integrate seamlessly into the "L" Plan - again with only minor interior modifications.
The structures are also designed with an array of individual customizations that offer the owner many personal choices. Although we consider the Sunrooms an integral part of the homes, they can be excluded without affecting the overall aesthetics of the designs. Also, the placement of interior walls (except those with adjacent plumbing fixtures) has some flexibility, as do the exterior roof and wall finishes.Our intention when creating these first three designs was to maximize the design advantages and cost savings of our modular building system without the "modular" look, and produce the aesthetic appeal of a truly custom home.
The primary green design features included in these plans are:
- Passive solar design incorporating greenhouses for passive heat gain and winter time edible plant cultivation.
- Roof mounted photovoltaic panels for electric generation.
- Earthen roofs for additional edible growing areas and passive cooling during summer.
- Buried "Earth Tubes" under the berms on the north side of the house with solar-assist "chimneys" through the greenhouses for passive cooling and humidifying ("L" & "U" Plans only)
- Patented steel & EPS foam panel construction which provides a super-insulated enclosure with no thermal breaks through the walls and roofs, and almost zero construction waste.
- Low-E double, or triple, glazed windows for superior thermal and acoustic insulation
- Low energy appliances and electrical fixtures
- Low flow plumbing fixtures
- Rain water collection and purification systems for irrigation and non-drinking uses.
- "Green" interior building finishes for superior indoor air quality.
- Low maintenance, fire-resistive exterior building finishes for superior longevity.
- Computer assisted "Smart Building" technology for building systems management.
